About the Role

At TCOU our Senior Care Worker’s role is focused on the service user and their different needs & requirements.

You can expect duties to include (not exhaustive) :

- Provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements under the direction of the
Registered Manager.
- Administering Medication
- Making meals
- Support and enable Service Users to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-
centred care unique to each individual.
- Escorting clients to an activity or a medical appointment
- Chatting and engaging with relatives and providing care updates
- Companionship — communicating and taking an interest in your client’s needs
- Helping with personal care such as washing, dressing, hair, nail, mouth & skin care
- Provide fluid and nutritional support
- Errands such as shopping
- Helping with household tasks, including gardening, cleaning, household maintenance, washing
clothes, doing the weekly shop or making the bed
- Assisting with paperwork such as paying bills
- Reporting and documentation I.e. Care Plan review
- Maintain skills at a current level, undertake such training and development as required from time-to-
time to maintain and progress knowledge.
- Ensure Service Users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their
wellbeing.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the service. Support Service Users to maintain their relationships
and connections with the local community.
- Ensure Care Plans and other information about how to support Service Users are followed.
- Be responsible for informing the Manager of any changes in the needs of Service Users.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months in Care Work Preferred, but not essential (Further training will be provided)

  • Flexibility with working patterns

  • Shift Patterns & Weekend Working required

  • Day and Night Shift available

  • Reliability - Our service users are dependant on our staff and support.
